There are four types of personal training clients

These are the four types of clients:

The A client –

  1. You get along very well
  2. They love their results
  3. They pay on time
  4. They refer other clients to you
  5. You love working with them

The B client –

  1. You get along with them
  2. They like their results
  3. They pay on time with reminders
  4. They sometimes refer clients
  5. You like working with them

The C client –

  1. You get along with them about half the time
  2. They don’t work often enough to see results but blame you
  3. They are often late on paying even with reminders
  4. They don’t refer clients
  5. You tolerate working with them (for the money)

The D client –

  1. You don’t get along with them/argue with them/won’t do what you say
  2. They don’t see results because they don’t work out often enough and blame you
  3. They are constantly late even with reminders
  4. They don’t refer clients
  5. You get a stomach ache working with them but feel you have to for the money

There are many combinations to this list but you get the general idea.  Keep A and B clients and get rid of C and D clients as soon as you can. They are toxic.

Also, treat A clients like royalty as they can grow your business with people who are just like them, usually.
